David / I really do like the new deigsn of this xbox, it looks a lot more elegant and sleeker. however, I used to think the touch sensitive buttons were a great addition, but now they just piss me off. just the slightest contact with skin and you will either turn off your xbox or eject the disc. i just wish there was a way in which you could lock the buttons whilst playing, kind of like an ipod/iphone.

You dont understand mate.Crysis 1 in the first place was never made for the consoles, it was made for top end PCs and top end PC’s in the future and was very demanding and poorly optimized too making it even more demanding.Battlefield is a mutliplatform game from the ground up, its being made and optimized [aswell as its engine] to work on the PC the best it can but also the consoles the best it can. This is in no comparison to Cyrsis 1 being made solely for high end PC’s and then ported and optimized the best possible for consoles years later “if you make a game for PCs first, you will end up with a higher quality console game. Same principle applies here. If you take arguably one of the best looking PC games to date, and optimize the hell out of it along with doing some extra trimming, you will end up with a very high quality console product. The large environments further support my point about it being the next console graphicâ??s king.”Seriously you have no idea… If you make a game just for PC’s and optimized just for high end PC’s then ported it to consoles years later it is completely different from making a game for all platforms and optimizing it for all platforms while actually making it,and the result is the game that was made and optimized for all platforms will look and perform and be technically FAR better than the game made just for high end PC’s and ported to the consoles years later after its been made on the same engine Resulting in extreme optimization on a game such as Crysis 1 which was already poorly optimized for high end PC’s by;-Taking away lots and lots of vegetation and buildings and things-Completely changing all the effects such as lighting and explosions to be quite poor also removing some entirely-Completely dulling all of the textures to extremely low res especially on a game with big environments-Lowering the resolution to Sub-HD and not being able to use normal AA to cover up the jaggies as it will be too demanding-using a blurr filter instead which blurs the screen-sacraficing low framerate or sacraficing even more things to get a playable framerate.Crysis 1′s graphics look very good on max on a PC 10x more powerfull than the consoles, but its a 7 year old game and the actuall graphics and physics are dated…. its not even DX11, but still can look extremely good. But this doesnt mean anything when you put it on a console running far below its mininum settings on the PC which dont look impressive atall compared as its not made to look good like that but on powerfull hardware.Battlefield 3 and many other games on the consoles released the last few years will be better and NO COMPARISON to the graphics of what Crysis 1 will be on the consoles I GUARENTEE YOUJust because Crysis 1 has good grpaihcs on a top end PC [its most certainly not got the best graphcs anymore by a longshot, its 7 years old, its just poorly optimized hence the term 'can it run crysis'] Doesnt mean its goingto be one of the best graphical games on the consoles…. And I assure you it wont be.Get it in your head now that it will look Ok pretty good and good enough for you to play but wont even compare to many good graphic games on the consoles, I 100% guarentee you, I dont know why you are thinking this but atleast now you know and wont be too dissapointed hoping for way too much.VN:F [1.9.15_1155](from 8 votes)

Your statement implies, it wasn’t just the fact it was rushed out, as the glitches make it clear (that it wasn’t just the fact, that it was rushed out).English , learn it, you idiot! How can you say they did their best job, when they had to rush it out, now THAT’S a contradiction. They spent 4 years, developing a multi-platform engine, not the actual game itself. The game only came into being later on in process. Furthermore, that doesnt mean anything. I could spend 100 years developing a game, but still have issues I havent resolved, as I didnt have time to fix them, or know how to fix them, but later on I fix them.“In conclusion what I am saying and said is yes it was rushed out as everyone knows, but Crytek spent a long long time making the game and did their best job, the game has pretty bad AA and allot of framerate drops and some technical problems, and that isnt down to just being rushed out [the bugs and glitches are], that is the best they could do with little experience of optimizing and making a game for consoles without taking a decade”Of course the technical issues are down to being rushed, pptimising takes time, even more so if you don’t have experience of doing so, and another 2-3 months may have been enough to vastly improve it’s issues. look at differences between code of bf3 on Jimmy Fallon and now. If dice were pushed to have had bf3 ready for the point at which it went on air at Jimmy Fallon’s show, we’d all be sitting here going, “well dice are crap, bf3 is crap, they couldnt optimise properly” etc.Crysis 2 didn’t have budget of BF3, and EA decided it was good enough, and they didn’t want waste more time and money on it.6 months have passed and that’s a lot in terms of developing time, and their engine will have been heavily optimised since then. You always take extreme views, with no sense of perspective or common sense often.I have been harsh on you calling you name’s ,as you are not an idiot, but you really need to use ur head a little and think sometimes. yes Crysis 2 had issues, but so did Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 was amazingly better, and theres nothing to have stopped Crytek improving their engine between then and now.Furthermore, you point out all the bad points on Crysis 2, but fail to point out the amazing stuff it did well too.We can do this with kz3, uc2 etc too. Uc2, is linear, has low res alpha transparencies, controller response latencies that are abnormally high, ssao isnt very well developed, animation of nathan isnt that great. kz3 has low res textures lying around, it has loads of artifacting and shimmering. does that sound fair analysis of those games?No1, of course not, theres many positives to crysis 2, but you need to take of your blinkers and see it. Theres a reason why DF and many others were impressed by the game’s tech, and like you said, it was their first effort using the tech on console, and will improve. Uc1 tore like a b**h and had horrible input latency too, but uc2 improved upon those issues.VN:F [1.9.15_1155](from 2 votes)

I think you lost your credibility with that comment when you twice iterated that Crysis 1 is a 7 year old game, as well as saying it doesn’t have the best graphics by a long shot.Do you know what “optimizing” means? In rendering, it usually refers to either changing code to allow the most efficient processing possible, or actually removing and moving actual game assets. In this case they did both. Does Crysis Warhead look that much worse than Crysis 1? No, and yet the requirements are lower. Sure they changed some things, but the game isn’t that far off from the original, and some things were actually improved. They are doing the same thing again, except have been given a larger amount of time to do it, and have a lower hardware spec to hit. The game will be downgraded overall in several areas, but that is the norm for any console game. To say it will look just okay is an insult. You can’t seem to grasp this concept. If you take a game with very high quality assets and shrink it, you will get a much better product than with a game with medium-quality assets created for consoles alone. If you go the very high quality route, you just have to downscale until you are able to just fit under the absolute maximum. While for a game created for consoles, the developers have to eyeball it and can often end up with lower-quality assets than what they could have fit. That is the principle behind it and just because Crysis 1 was created a couple years ago, doesn’t mean they can’t somehow optimize it effectively. Show me a game on consoles that looks as good as this with such large environments as well. The only contender would be Battlefield 3, but a jungle setting will look better than an urban setting any day.VN:F [1.9.15_1155](from 2 votes)
